If you hold a real estate or CAM license, you already made a promise to act with integrity, put people first, and compete fairly. CPI turns that promise into how communities buy. Take the pledge, earn your badge, and stand with the stewards.
What you’re affirming
Each one mirrors a duty from the professional code of ethics you already know — written the way people actually talk.
Trust is not given once — it is earned in every conversation, every disclosure, every decision. Professionalism is not a box we checked when we were licensed; it is a responsibility we carry every day. When we each hold the line, we do not just protect our own name — we rebuild the whole community’s confidence and lift everyone who serves it.
Staying Informed
I stay current on the laws, standards, and market realities that affect the communities I serve — and I renew my knowledge, not just my license.
Sharing Knowledge
I mentor newer professionals and share what actually works, so the whole field gets better — not just me.
Generosity & Collegiality
I treat colleagues as allies, not rivals. I welcome newcomers, stay patient and courteous with those still learning, and give freely — because a rising standard lifts everyone, including me.
Maintaining Integrity
I deal honestly, I do not look away from wrongdoing, and I report it through the proper channels — but I never trade in rumor or gossip.
Community First
The community’s interest leads every recommendation I make. Their needs come before my convenience or commission.
Reliability & Follow-Through
I do what I say I will do, I communicate clearly and promptly, and I keep my work organized and transparent — so the people who count on me never have to wonder where things stand.
Fair Competition
I win on merit and real results — never by tearing others down or spreading things that are not true.
Professional Conduct
I give straight, objective guidance and keep my criticism fair and factual, even about competitors.
Privacy & Data Care
The names, numbers, addresses, and details people share with me are held in trust. I collect only what I truly need, tell people how I’ll use it, keep it secure, and never pass it along without their okay — and I expect the partners I work with to do the same.
Respect & Dignity
Every person I meet deserves courtesy and dignity, whoever they are. How I speak and act — in public, online, and in private — reflects on everyone who shares this standard, so I hold to it in all my dealings, not just the business ones.
And above all: I treat others the way I would want to be treated.
CPI is built to honor this code. Nobody pays to win. Payment and membership decide how a provider is listed and served — never how they are matched, scored, or ranked in a procurement.
Stewardship in practice
Personal information is anything that could identify, contact, or locate a specific person — on its own or combined with other details. Names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, photos, account numbers, and even notes about someone’s situation all count. People are paying closer attention to who holds their information and why, and handling it well is one of the quickest ways to earn — or lose — their trust.
Tell people plainly what information you’re asking for and how you’ll use it. A short, clear note beats fine print. No surprises later.
Ask for what genuinely helps you serve the person — nothing more. Every extra detail you hold is one more thing you’re responsible for protecting.
Decide how long you really need records, then dispose of them properly — shred paper, delete files and old exports, and clear out devices before you retire them.
Use strong passwords and two-step sign-in, limit access to people who need it, keep devices locked, and be careful on public Wi-Fi and with email attachments.
Pass someone’s information along only when they asked you to, when it’s needed to finish something they started, when you’re legally required to, or when you told them ahead of time and gave them a real chance to say no.
When you hand information to a vendor, contractor, or service on someone’s behalf, make sure they’ll protect it as carefully as you would. Your promise travels with the data.
These are everyday good habits, not legal advice. Privacy rules differ from place to place — when in doubt, check with your own advisor.
